Eye-Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing Therapy

Trial period: June 2021 – ongoing

Research: To test the effectiveness of Eye-Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing [EMDR] with interpersonal trauma and occupational trauma with longitudinal monitoring of symptom relapse.

Outcomes: EMDR has been found to be an effective method of treatment for both interpersonal and occupational trauma, with clients finding that their symptoms of Posttraumatic Stress Disorder reduce below diagnostic threshold and their self-reported quality of life improves. Secondary outcomes have found that clients also experience a reduction in symptoms of depression, anxiety, and stress following treatment.
